A Crafty Weekend

Have had a lovely weekend although busy, went to a class at my local craft shop and made some traditional Christmas cards and then today have been at the first Crop for Keep it Crafty run by Sue and Dawn where I did two layouts designed by Dawn. We have a very sick dog at home tonight, she's not been well for a week or so , I took her to the vet's last week where she was given antibiotics and now she seems to be much worse, hardly moving at all and looking very sad, I hate to see her like that so it's straight on the phone to the vet tomorrow morning.
I'm back in the swing of it all now craft wise and am aiming to definitely make my Christmas cards in time this year - instead of the mad rush I always seem to be in ! I missed Ally Pally this weekend too which was a bit of a pain but I guess I saved some money ! Oh and also back to some challenges too...

More Pages

At last I can try and get back to some sort of normality, have finally got the computer sorted and so I can now hopefully have everything in one place and get printing properly in order to do some more layouts. Here are a few I have done over the last couple of weeks. I did the skull one at Scrap & Chat tonight - got me back into it again as I've really been out of the routine of it all.

Back in Blogland

Well, that time has gone very quickly. Still have no main computer and it's a major fight to get on the ickle old laptop after the boys and himself - but am now on the shiny new laptop which hopefully will be kind to me and load the photos the right way round and not sideways like the other one....I've been trying to keep up with Shimelle's class and am only a couple of days out of sync now. I made a couple of cards over the weekend, one for Brother in Law and Sister in Law's Ruby Anniversary and one for a friend of Mum and Dad who turned 50. They wanted the elegant lady so hopefully she will like it ! I managed to also do a layout tonight that was inspired by a kit and design from Sue's fab site so am going to attempt to load the photos now ..!

A Dotty Graduation

Well, not much new stuff tonight so here is a graduation card that I didn't post from a couple of weeks back. A friend asked me to make one for her friend's daughter as she had done very well in her exams. She asked me for a simple 'Dottie ' card so this is what I came up with..

Playing Catch Up

Well, things are not looking good on the Computer front, we got the main one back on Thursday night only for it to completely crash on Friday and is now completely unusable so I'm back to the very slow laptop again. I have been feeling yuk today as I have had a really bad migraine and been in bed all day so have lost a day again when Iwas hoping to do some crafting. Anyway, I went to a really nice class yesterday at our local Craft shop where Karen runs some classes and we did a portfolio- a 6 x 6 book and a little wallet, they were all made from a 'Finished In a Flash ' Hot off the Press book and various other bits that Karen had put together in the kit and we used alcohol inks and stamping - really enjoyed it. I also managed to catch up on Shimelle's class so at least things are on a level again. Off to bed now as it's really late ...

Card Making Evening

Well, middle son is back at Uni now so I moved some of my stuff up to his room last night and had a lovely evening making cards, I felt like doing cards for a change and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Hopefully the main computer is being delivered back tonight so I will be very pleased to have that back. Once that is all installed and ready to go - i'm going to go and have a sit down and have a go at doing the second page for ' Learn something new every day' !which I am really enjoying as it's only little pages each day and as usual gets you to stop and sit and think each day..

Mini Books and Learn Something Every Day

Well, it doesn't look like the trusty computer is anywhere near ready yet, it's been away for a service and upgrade so here I am on the laptop and have managed to sort out how to post photos..As promised to my friend Deb - here are the photos of the mini books I did at the class over the weekend. I finally learnt how to use the Bind It All when we made the bigger book so it's not so scary after all ! I do think that you have to really remember which side you are making the holes and also not to have lots of embellies on the sides or you will mess them up. Anyway, I went to a great class at the weekend and really loved the place too over at Billericay,it was nice to see Hilary again and to catch up.I managed to do my first page for the new Shimelle class too - I got the mixed media kit so enjoyed having a play with that this evening.
